Bad and Good News

which one would go first?

hmm...

ok, i'll start off with the bad one then the good one next so the positivity is still there.

here they are!

upon visiting one of my fave bloggers ms. ala paredes, one of her accounts for the day talks about two politicians (Nasser Pangandamanan, Jr., city mayor of Masiu City in Lanao del Sur and Secretary Nasser Pangandaman of DAR) involved in beating up a 56-year-old father and a 14-year-old son for going against them after the politicians company overtook the already-taken flight by the father-and-son golfers happening just a day after Christmas of 2008 at Valley Golf and Country Club, Antipolo City.

the said beaten up company was actually with his daughter who accounted the whole incident in her blog. thank God they spared the daughter! My! the whole story was just so revolting which prompted me to write this (and if by chance read by others in this network). those politicians just can't do that but as terrible as it is, it's actually happening! tsk big time!

the family is actually asking for help in nailing these politicians to jail. i just really hope and pray that justice is served to them in the soonest of time!

on the brighter side, here's the good news:

Sandiganbayan: Caraga, WVisayas have fewest gov’t scalawags; NCR has most

isn't it a WOW?!i'm really surprised and glad to have read these headline in the GMANews.TV. well, if not so everybody knows, i come from Butuan which is one of the cities in Agusan del Norte which is also one of the four provinces comprising CARAGA region or Region 13, blah, blah, blah and blah...it's a bit comforting to hear something like that about our region but for NCR, it felt like nada. it wasn't a surprise at all. Oh! it must be discomforting and saddening for the folks in there.tsk!

i know for one that corruption has become generic in this country that includes this region of ours and my very own home-grown city but a filed cases of 41 for over 29 years compared to the 6,841 of NCR, that's a big difference if you look at the numbers, right?! though there are other matters of which such regions to compare with (whom i personally know and expect the total opposite results), this time it's ours to WOW for.

for the years i lived in butuan since i'm politically sensible, i had my own ranting moments about corrupt leaders in our city, of how political dynasty is so rampant in this part of the country, of how slow progsession is in terms of road and bridge development and other infrastructures such towering buildings like in Makati (ambisyosa!) ang big malls in Manila. there's actually more of this but for the past five years i think, the roads to provinces especially the way to surigao del sur has improved a lot making our ride pretty smooth during the halloween and holiday seasons, a new bridge was built in Butuan (the Diosdado Macapagal Brigde) which actually be of good use i believe in the long run, and lots of households in the said city, ours for one, are now enjoying if not so maybe comforted by the now-working water system and two municipalities (Cabadbaran and Bayugan) are now cities adding to the roster of cities of Caraga region. in terms of malls, we do actually have one which has been operating since i was still in my high school years.

when i told my mom about this news, she wasn't surprised and then explained that it's all because business are being monopolized here. this i forgot. it's the reason why we have so few industrial companies (i'm not sure if we do actually have one.waah.joke!) and big malls. anyhow, us folks here our pretty accustomed to this and been living pretty fine as well within our seams. i just hope, our region would be able to maintain this low corrupt rate if not diminished.;)

from all of these, there still hope for future development for the rest of us. we just have to believe and work for it!

to God be the Glory! God bless the afflicted and the weak.

yesterday, december 18, 2008 two bombs exploded in two department stores here in iligan city, two dead and 45 wounded as reported in the news. really bad! poor baggage boys. luckily, we're in the middle of our review in the school when the bombing happened and which later on turn out to be the reason for canceling all classes today including our review!yay!aw.my bad but i pray that the bereaved family could get over it in God's time, to the wounded that they may be healed and to all of the Iliganons to get over with the trauma especially that's its christmas season..i really hope iligan would have a peaceful christmas. God bless us all!

I pray as well that mom will have a successful operation for her ovarian cyst tomorrow 8am and that she'll have a fast recovery...
